VIVA LAS VEGAS

VIVA LAS VEGAS? More like DIVA LAS VEGAS

A 21st birthday weekend trip to Las Vegas, how could I not break out my most extra pieces? Las Vegas nightlife attire called for: low-cut clothing, sparkly or bright outfits, tight/bodycon dresses, blazer dresses, silk/satin fabrics, and heels/stilettos. Men nightlife fashion in Vegas included dress shoes, trendy jeans, and a button up/collared shirt or a sport coat. The clubs in Las Vegas do not play when it comes to dress code (they don't call it Fabulous Las Vegas for no reason). You are not allowed to show up in jeans and flip flops as the environment is a very dressy scene. However, if you check out the nighttime scene on Fremont Street, you will learn that any type of clothing (even no clothing at all) pretty much goes.

For a night out to the club, I wore this this rose gold/pink sequin dress from Pretty Little Thing. It's held up by chain straps which wrap around the neck as a choker. It also has a low back and draped neckline. This was the perfect dress for a night (and early morning) full of dancing and champagne.

Another Las Vegas Nightlife venue I got to experience was the High Roller. The High Roller is the "London Eye" of Vegas, in which they offer a Happy Half Hour that consists of a 30-minute ride and AYCD bar experience. For this event, I created a blazer romper from a couple of pieces. I wore a black low v-neck halter romper that I purchased from PacSun a few years ago and added a black blazer on top. Then, I belted the waist and added a long, layered chained necklace. I finished this look with sparkly boots by Michael Kors and added a black quilted Michael Kors purse.

Unlike the night, daytime fashion is very casual.

When we took a trip out to Seven Magic Mountains, it was about 70 degrees and windy. The desert was perfect in that it wasn't too hot nor too cold and humidity did not exist (aka. my hair and makeup remained the same throughout the day!) I wore my mom jeans from PacSun and a loose white v-neck halter top that I tucked into my jeans. I accessorized with a brown braided belt, brown sandals, and a brown purse to match. Can't forget about sunnies too! The only issue I had with this outfit was my choice of shoes. I would recommend wearing shoes with a little bit more support because you are literally walking on the desert or shoes that are closed-toe because of how dusty it gets out there.

XOXO,

Alyssa Ashley
